David Alexander Cecil Low, illustrator, caricaturist, and journalist was born in 1891 in Dunedin, New Zealand. One of the most famous political caricaturists of the 20th century, he produced two dozen compilations of previously published drawings, including A Cartoon History of Our Times (1939), Low on the War (1941), and Years of Wrath (1946).
